Motivz (“Motivz”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the Motivz mobile application, website at themotivz.com, and related organizer tools (collectively, the “Services”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use the Services as an attendee, organizer, venue partner, or other user.

By using Motivz, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

When you create an account or use Motivz, you may provide information including:

  • Email address and account credentials
  • Username and profile information (such as bio and profile photo)
  • Content you post (photos, videos, captions, comments)
  • Event interactions (likes, RSVPs, saves, reviews)
  • Messages or communications sent through the Services
  • Support requests or feedback

Organizer and Business Information

If you create or manage an organization, sell tickets, or use organizer tools, you may also provide:

  • Organization profile details (name, handle, description, logo, website, and social links)
  • Organization contact email and team membership details
  • Event details, ticketing settings, and promotional content
  • Payout and identity information submitted through Stripe Connect to receive ticket revenue (processed by Stripe, not stored by Motivz as full banking credentials)

When you sell tickets through Motivz, we also process purchase and attendance records needed to deliver tickets, prevent fraud, and provide organizers with authorized access to attendee information for their events.

Payment Information

Ticket purchases and organizer payouts are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. Motivz does not store full payment card numbers. Stripe collects and processes payment information according to Stripe's privacy policy and PCI-DSS requirements. We may receive limited payment-related metadata from Stripe (such as transaction IDs, payment status, and payout status) to operate ticketing and payouts.

Information Collected Automatically

To operate and improve the Services, we may collect:

  • Device type, browser, and operating system
  • App or web version
  • General usage data such as features used, screens viewed, and interactions
  • Crash reports, error logs, and performance diagnostics
  • IP address and user agent, used for fraud prevention, rate limiting, security monitoring, and legal compliance — not for building advertising profiles

Location Information

Motivz may use approximate location information (such as city or general area) to:

  • Show nearby events and recommendations
  • Improve discovery and personalization
  • Analyze usage trends in aggregate

We do not collect precise GPS location unless you explicitly grant permission.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and operate the Services
  • Process ticket sales, RSVPs, and organizer payouts
  • Personalize content and event recommendations
  • Enable social features and interactions
  • Give authorized organization members access to event and attendee data they need to manage their events
  • Improve performance, design, and functionality
  • Communicate important updates or support messages
  • Detect fraud, abuse, duplicate purchases, and security issues
  • Comply with legal obligations

Organizer Data and Attendee Information

If you are an event organizer, Motivz stores the business and event information you provide and makes it available to members of your organization according to their assigned permissions.

Attendee information (such as ticket holder name, email, and purchase details) is shared only with authorized members of the organizing team for events they manage. Attendee lists are not publicly visible by default. Organizers are responsible for using attendee data only for legitimate event-management purposes and in compliance with applicable laws.

Access to sensitive data is enforced through role-based permissions and database-level security controls.

Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information:

  • With trusted service providers that help operate the Services (such as hosting, analytics, authentication, email delivery, payment processing, and storage providers)
  • With Stripe to process payments and organizer payouts
  • With authorized organization team members, as described above
  • In aggregated or anonymized form for analytics and improvements
  • When required by law or to protect rights, safety, or security
  • In connection with a business transaction such as a merger or acquisition

Service providers are authorized to use information only as necessary to provide services to Motivz and are contractually required to protect it.

Third-Party Services

Motivz relies on third-party services to function properly. These services may process information according to their own privacy policies. Key providers include:

  • Stripe — payment processing and organizer payouts
  • Supabase — cloud hosting, database, authentication, and file storage
  • PostHog — product analytics to understand how the Services are used
  • Sentry — error monitoring and crash reporting
  • Resend — transactional email delivery
  • App distribution platforms such as the Apple App Store and Google Play

Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services and comply with legal obligations.

Transaction, ticketing, and payout records may be retained for a longer period where required for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.

Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from within the mobile application.

When you delete your account, your personal information is permanently removed from our systems, except where retention is required for legal, security, tax, or operational purposes (such as completed transaction records).

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access your personal information
  • Update or correct your information
  • Delete your account and associated data

Children's Privacy

Motivz is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that such information has been collected, we will delete it promptly.

Security

We use reasonable technical, administrative, and organizational measures to protect your information, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and encryption at rest for stored data
  • Payment card data handled by Stripe, which is PCI-DSS compliant — Motivz does not store full card numbers
  • Role-based access controls and database-level security policies that limit who can view organizer, attendee, and payment data
  • Monitoring for errors, abuse, and suspicious activity through security and fraud-prevention tooling
  • Restricted internal access to production systems and data

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted within the Services or on this page. Continued use of Motivz after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
